Privacy Policy
Last updated: 15 July 2026
Study Pal is operated by CediSmart Solutions (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what we collect when you use Study Pal and how we handle it, in line with Ghana's Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843).
What we collect
- Account details: your email address or phone number used to sign in.
- Learner profile: a display name, and — if the account is registered by a parent or guardian — the learner's first name and level (JHS or SHS).
- Practice activity: questions attempted, answers submitted, timing, correctness, review schedule, and diagnostic results.
- Technical data: basic device and connection information required to deliver the app reliably on low-bandwidth networks.
What we do NOT collect
- We do not sell your personal data.
- We do not collect a learner's full legal name, address, or national ID.
- We do not require access to your contacts, camera, microphone, or location.
Why we use your data
- To personalise practice and show you the next best question to attempt.
- To sync progress across your devices when you sign in.
- To keep the service secure and troubleshoot problems.
Guardian consent for learners under 18
If you are registering Study Pal on behalf of a learner under 18, you must be their parent or legal guardian. By selecting “My child or ward” at signup and confirming consent, you agree that we may store the learner's first name, level, and practice history under your account. You can request deletion at any time (see contact below).
Marketing pixels
If enabled by us, Study Pal may load the Meta (Facebook) advertising pixel to measure the effectiveness of ads. This is disabled unless a pixel ID is configured. You can block it using your browser's privacy settings.
Your rights
Under Ghana's Data Protection Act you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data. Contact us and we will respond within a reasonable period.
